Free The Prisoners I want to free you from every kind of attire From that delicate glance that is not quite desire And I want to see you entirely naked Of every posture of every false question And I want to know your holy transparent fire A storm a train a bright star dancing on your eyelids And I want to free you from trappings and obscure views From all of your ideals and newsreels of the mind And it occurs to me that I write such things Because of your shocking beauty It occurs to me that I write such things because it’s a duty To free the prisoners free the prisoners And I want to shout out against sleep and indifference Against conversation and category and the cold hard calculation And I want to undress you of all your pretentious lies And that entire game you play of being civilized And I want to liberate that monster in your womb And sweep away the clouds and gloom And I want to free you from the burden of desire And lay you down in the cool, cool fire
2.
Lucinda 04:23
Lucinda You are not some empty doll You’re blisteringly true Sweep away the dross And sticky monsters too You’re deep mysterious Not plainly graspable They cannot put in a box They can’t say nothing at all Lucinda what are you running from? Lucinda where is the smoking gun? Lucinda none of them are real Lucinda they can’t tell you what to feel And when you’re feeling lost In lurid ghost and drama scenes And in some swampy hole Where trolls and vampires dream But if you heart is true If you give everything The divine hand will come to you Be at your beckoning And dawn is bleeding though The artificial light But there are still places with Giant birds in primeval flight And lands so beautiful They seem to transcend the earth And though life is a bust You know what you are worth

Killing the Lion I got the poison and I got rage Got a bleeding heart in a cage I got the power I got a gun I shot her down in the African sun I’m killing the lion killing the lion just killing the lion I got machines and I get paid I got a women I got a maid Got a million dollars and a monster truck And I don’t really give a flying fuck I’m killing the lion Bang bang having fun Bang bang in the African sun Band bang having fun Bang bang just like everyone Killing the lion killing the lion just killing the lion I got Jesus and America too I feel the rapture red white and blue I’ve got this creature on a leash Gives me the power of the beast I’m killing the lion Here comes the hunter the prodigal sun The everyman the average one Driving his mule driving his cart Killing the lion in our hearts I’m killing the lion Bang Bang!
4.
You Are My Heart When the wheels are muddy and the road is dark And you got no invitation and they’re building an arc And the corpses are piled up as high as the sky You don't know how to live and you don't know how to die You are my heart Teach me how to know you Well there ain’t nothing here but the sounds of machines And when the world appears to be a darkening dream And I am up in my palace I don't feel a thing My mouth is stitched up I continue to scream I hear the word redemption don't know what it means I'm just a burning man in a burning scene Maybe there is a spark of love down here in this hell How would I know how can I tell?
5.
Refugee 04:32
Refugee Everybody is a refugee Wandering a scarred earth Walking blindly down a road In hunger and thirst Everybody is a refugee So far from home Stuck inside a hinterland Of body and soul Oh land of plenty Strange fruit on your tree What payment for your skin? When will you let her in?  Everyone is a refugee Blindfolded and dreaming Drifting on a dangerous sea Terrified of its meaning Everyone is a refugee Pushing blindly on Sucking on the breast of A threadbare mother Everyone is a refugee Cursing the light Our birthright our holy land Stolen in the night Every pope and every king Every lunatic and slave Caught in some unseaworthy ship Under a burning wave
6.
Human Love 04:44
Human Love Did you see the autumn trees against the pale blue sky? Like two lover’s ashen limbs like two burning signs Stripped of every pretense in the trembling air Did you see the autumn trees fragile beyond repair?
Did you see the man and woman under the sky above? Leaning into one another to whisper words of love Forever to be bound they say one heart one mind one breath And then to look the other way and fall down on the cold hard cement
Oh human love you are so frail Oh human love so changeable You are a thief and a liar Oh human love you are the fire and the water
Did you see the poppy sway in later summer bloom? The fields of iris and of wheat the brightness of high noon The opulence the ocean spray the fullness of the foam Turn to ashes twisted limbs decay and broken bones Oh Spartan trees in red and gold let the dark season come Dressed in a thousand shades of grey her monuments of stone Oh did you see her standing there broken and aloof Her pale face mysterious air a church without a roof
7.
Don’t trust the things that shine My love don’t trust the things that shine Or the riverboats gypsy eyes They will break you They will make you a slave My love don’t trust the things that shine My love don’t trust those fashionable friends In their jealous kitchens They will try to crucify you Don’t trust fashionable friends Strong winds and hard weather And broken tiles are so much better than All of the other treasures you will find Don’t trust the things that shine My love don’t trust that elegant buffoon He will leave you on a barren moon Don’t give yourself to anyone too soon Don’t trust that elegant buffoon Be wild be virgin be rare Always keep your head in the air Don’t look for someone And he will come running Be wild be virgin be rare

Show Me 06:58
Show Me Show me oh still voice oh fury of stars oh sincere companion Show me that there still is a choice that the heart can be tender and open Show me your hidden spark what you hide in the dark with all your monsters Show me there is no need to explain to categorize or to name yourself when you are naked Show me who you really are the meaning of your scar and why you are weeping Show me who made this machine of ends and of means and who killed the god of love Show me even in this place in this world without world how to behold your beauty Show me in this arrogant winter something that is tender in flesh and disappointment Give me the rain give me the snow give me the evidence of a rose I will not avert my eyes I need to know it's true I am still standing here right in front of you With eyes open Show me you men in armchairs you women with airs why in hell are you breathing Show me you men who are stuffed you women who cuss why is everybody smiling Show me 10 000 dark dreams don't mean a single thing they are not what you are made of Show me your fragile wing invisible and shining don't let her be torn Show me how to make this voice carry to lighten your burden to wake your meaning Show me even now even here whisper in my ear let me hear your secret Show me your deep throated bird a dark meadow of words let me breath a little deeper Show me though there is no repair in the titanic air your terrifying angel

Stainless ship May the mind that has been darkened turn itself to love and virtue And may the eyes that have been blinded find cataracts to be flowers May the ones whose feet have stumbled find meadows full of wild grasses And may the blindly turning wheels be arrested in true yearning And may mediocre beliefs never enter never take form And any though that does divides us be torn to pieces be availed  May we stop creating false suns and sweep away by clouds instead May intention become one arrow to the heart of meaning And may we go from light to light From this bright room until the bright And may the rain fall from the sky And soak the earth with thunder and fire And may you unreasonably happy And see the clouds are temporary dragons That nothing is imbued with any seeming    Just the flicker of the flame
May we work till we are exhausted of all our dull instruments Our so-called reason our so-called logic whose origin is only a mystery  May sublime and beatific meaning arise from the mud of our delusion May we find that stainless ship beyond the changing circumstances
May we burn and may we tremble till all the karma is exhausted Till there’s nothing but a heartful gesture of affection and of beauty May we enter your sublime world beyond the wood beyond the inferno I hear you beckoning entreating oh shining guest oh true companion
10.
Nothing in this world Oh youth fleeting Oh borderland rose Oh clouds in a changeable sky Oh man oh woman Oh flower oh beast What kind of fool am I? To think I could do it myself With fences ideals and chains Oh deathless one Where white birds wheel Over cities on the plane There is nothing in this world There is nothing in this world That can hold you There is nothing in this world There is nothing in this world Let me know you I wanna know you How can it be that such a one? Has come to walk the earth Beloved heart so ragged wild Untie this knot of birth What mortal song? What hands of clay? What idol what pretense? Oh let us be unburden here Beneath your starry fence

about

From the Label Manager : « Free the Prisoners » is a 10 tracks album. Beautiful writing. With a kind urgency in every note. A masterpiece.

After a long gestation, intense moments of composition and writing, there is an urge towards embodiment, to bring forth this ‘wolf-child’. Do not imagine that we want to jealously, bitterly, keep him for ourselves. He wants to be tamed, to be loved, to be played with, but he know only how to bend his back. We leave it to you to guide him into the light…

PRESS reviews:
From Magic RPM (National French magazine): "This is the kind of music filling the gaps."
Indiepoprock: "Songs that fall like melodic evidences. And whose simplicity and apparent stripping harbor an intense light."
Musik Please: "Album of great wealth not to be missed"
Silence is Sexy: "Nothing is lost, there is still a beautiful and intelligent music"
